FELI
Welcome to FELI -
Forest Endeavors Leadership Institute
FELI is offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience designed for high-school students passionate about science, the environment, occupational and other therapies, and real-world discovery.
Set in the Forest Endeavors campus of woods, water, and habitat, the program blends traditional academics with field-based exploration - allowing students to study ecosystems, wildlife, conservation, and environmental science firsthand.
Learning Beyond the Textbook
FELI studies include hands-on science activities such as water quality testing, species identification, habitat restoration, and long-term ecological research projects.

Guest Speakers and Mentors
Students engage with guest speakers from a wide range of scientific and environmental careers—biologists, ecologists, conservationists, and researchers—who bring real-world insight and inspiration into the classroom.

Independent Thesis, Project and Presentation
A central component of the program is the completion of an independent thesis. Each student selects a topic of interest, conducts in-depth research, gathers field data, and works closely with mentors to develop their findings. This culminates in a formal presentation, where students showcase their work, defend their conclusions, and demonstrate mastery of scientific inquiry.

Graduation, Forest Endeavors Work Placement Eligibility, Professional Resume Building
Graduates of the program earn recognition from FELI and leave with valuable field experience, research skills, and professional connections. They are also eligible to work with Forest Endeavors, providing a direct pathway into environmental work, occupational therapy, and working with children.
